Less a Thomas Cromwell, more a Robespierre 22:54 - May 23 with 1307 views | You_Bloo_Right | From Wikii: Robespierre was eventually undone by his obsession with the vision of an ideal republic and his indifference to the human costs of installing it, which turned both members of the Convention and the French public against him. The Terror ended when he and fifty of his allies were arrested in the town hall on 9 Thermidor and executed the day after. [Post edited 23 May 2020 22:55]

Have you ever read Mark Steel's 'Vive La Revoltion' Guffers? It's a very funny, surprisingly well-researched(but not without its errors - he is a comedian by trade after all and certainly not without's biases) book about the French revolution. He's particularly funny talking about Robespierre and Danton. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vive-Revolution-Mark-Steel/dp/0743208064 [Post edited 24 May 2020 14:07]
