So these are UK passport holders (and presumably their families) who have got no residency rights in this country. And we are being so generous as to allow those who can afford to give up everything where they live and travel halfway round the world to live in this country (where they have a passport for) and give them the right to stay here for 5 years. And we are throwing into the bargain the right to apply for full citizenship after those 5 years. So they might have that refused and be sent back to Hong Kong after 5 years too?

Sounds very generous.

And the right thing to do imo, given our history in HK. It's an awful regime.

It'll wind up the cult Brexiteers no end, but who cares. Those who aren't mindless little Englanders, like Glassers, will I'm sure be very supportive. So hopefully the majority will see this as an important intervention on human rights/social responsibility grounds.

As long as we're not welcoming the Triads!

You have not, by any chance, looked at his full username, have you? I find that a typically English comment, Swanners.

If the strawberries are good enough, they pick themselves.

Although they are picked more easily with a little rotation.

C'mon, give me a break, this IS a football forum.
