It was very clear their ideas were different to their desired model.

I quite enjoyed the thread the other day which featured a number of people who hated Mick and his football exhibiting some impressive displays of cognitive dissonance to justify why we should imply them.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Because they wanted the continental approach when on the up but wanted a bit of British grit to get them out of relegation trouble.

At least the Cowleys know they can manage in the Championship now. You never hear of Paul Hurst anymore do you?

A brave move. It's not actually clear what they want from that article. PLenty of empty cliches without telling us anything. Maybe the Cowley's were what they thought they needed at the time to get them out of a hole, and now they think they've bought themselves some time to experiment again. They may be in for a shock. As we found from Hurst, football doesn't give people time these days unless they get off to a god start. But then maybe they've unearthed a gem. They'll soon find out.

Just on the Hurst point, he would have been fine here had he not piloted the club straight into the worst case scenario immediately upon arriving here. Ooh, and if he’d also avoided goading the senior players and coaching staff to near mutiny within a matter of weeks.

Christ, even if he’d managed to emulate Daniel Farke’s first season at Norwich - ups and downs, unbeaten in the derbies, a lengthy losing run, creditable performance in a Cup tie against a Premier League side, mid table finish etc then he’d have been here for the season just gone.

Instead, he will serve as Case Study A in any account of getting a big break and blowing it badly. It’s such a shame that most of his signings are still doing that here week on week.
