It is a great shame the way it finished here. He has become divisive when he should be remembered with affection for what he achieved. I wish him well. I am sure he will do well with them until it turns stale.

I still wonder if we had appointed Nathan Jones instead of Paul Hurst. He has done well with Luton but perhaps it would have gone the same way as it did for him at Stoke. I don't think any of the other names linked with us at that time have done anything noteworthy wherever they went.

And isn't that the problem? Managers of MM's quality are few and far between and there are plenty of worse ones doing the rounds.
