Apparently it’s the Cup Final tomorrow 17:52 - May 14 with 1064 viewsIllinoisblue

Sad it’s been relegated to an afterthought in the football calendar. When I were a lad, etc. etc.

Even with this season being something of an exceptional one given the circumstances, playing it before the end of the PL season is just wrong.

And the owners of the two finalists probably care more about finishing top four. Hope Leicester win it.

Man Utd destroyed the fa cup and others have followed suit.

I would hope players and fans of Leicester want the cup win more than a top 4. However all the football news is about the top four and how excited the media are that Liverpool will probably leapfrog Leicester.

I feel forever grateful that I/we saw our club win the cup in its golden age. The league was always the bigger achievement but the cup final itself was the biggest game in club football in the world.

Don’t care, Leicester themselves are about 20th richest in the world

Football is just not the same without images of scousers clambering into a sun-soaked Wembley without a ticket.

Should Chelsea win, Leicester with be on five FA Cup final appearances without victory. They are already two finals ahead of any other side to have appeared in the final without having won it (Queen's Park of Scotland, Birmingham City, Crystal Palace and Watford have all lost two).

There is an even bigger game next Tuesday with more at stake and it is between the same two clubs with potentially a champions league place at stake.

Thank you, Sky TV, for your input. I bet 99% of Leicester fans would rather lift the cup than finish top four

I doubt that very much. In England, the FA Cup final once meant a lot more to clubs, but I doubt very much (if anything at all) if it was of that much significance to most other nations.

BBC London managed to use the FA Cup Final preview to crowbar in that Chelsea have got an even bigger game in a few weeks (The Champions League final) which is much more important.....and then talked about that instead.

Actually, I think it genuinely was. I think there was a real sense of occasion about the oldest cup competition being played out at one of the most iconic football stadiums in the world when playing there was a genuine privilege, rather than being host to semi-finals and the home stadium for any London club who came asking.

That the FA have messed up both is a sad sign of how much money talks now.
