They've been excellent, but I've never seen such a gutless Queensland performance. Paul Green has no idea how to motivate a team from what I've seen over the years. Couldn't miss with the Cowboys in 2015, and held them back since then. Just look how they're picking up under Payten now. | |

Queensland have basically got the Paul Lambert of rugby coaches in charge.
Strange though, as you say, the Cowboys under him were decent.

The thing is he inherited a team with Thurston, Scott, Tamou and Cooper at the top of their games and with the likes of Taumalolo, Morgan, Feldt and Hess hitting top form, a side developed by Neil Henry who never quite got them over the line.
Then they won the comp, and he refused to change anything, letting promising youngsters like Ponga and Kikau go while the team went stale over the next five years.
Yes, I'm a Cowboys fan; Cowboys and ITFC have had pretty similar trajectories lately, but I think both are going to really pick up now.
