Scandal after scandal; Badger may need to do deep breathing exercises pre readin on 14:36 - Jun 27 with 813 views | Darth_Koont | Don’t really get this as the explanation for the resignation. Amongst serial rule-breaking, this is a PM and government who publicly, proudly and unlawfully prorogued parliament. Hardly think that ministerial/departmental shenanigans are the slightest concern. I fear that, despite the very many professional and democratic failings of Hancock, the resignation is purely down to an ongoing sex scandal that will continue to play out as they live together and there is a messy divorce. That’s the absurdity of British public life and so-called service.

Maybe, but that doesn't make it any less outrageous as a stand-alone scandal, even if you don't look at the increasing height of the mountain of them.

Oh absolutely. Just not buying Tim Walker’s reading of it. Still amazing to me how 150,000 deaths after the PPE scandal and the ridiculously expensive failure of Test & Trace wasn’t enough.

Picking up on comments this morning it would appear, as I thought it was the deluge of complaints about the hypocrisy is what done for Hancock. Johnson is too incompetent and too 'obliged' to have given Hancock the boot himself. And I've no doubt he has had to hand Hancock some kind of future sweetener' to keep his mouth shut, as once one domino goes the rest could follow. The email usage begs the question of what was needed to be hidden - ministerial incompetence, or dodgy contract awarding. Both with clear evidence. And as a measure of how bad things are, even the Sun has finally cottoned on https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/15405044/matt-hancock-probe-personal-email-ppe-pan

Tell the stupid what they want to hear, and you can do what you want "they need us more than we need them...........baa baa " "England will have a "world-beating" tracing system from June" both blatant lies, but as Goebbels said "The essential English leadership secret does not depend on particular intelligence. Rather, it depends on a remarkably stupid thick-headedness. The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous" never underestimate the stupidity of voters, as “The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.”" | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Charisma/image/smoke/mirrors - he ruffles his blonde hair, tells jokes, & sheeple go soft & say "it's such a difficult situation & he's doing his best". Apart from anything else, tories really do have the luck of the devil - if it's not a war keeping them in power & getting richer by the minute, it's a terrible pandemic :(
