Just a quick question. My youngest son’s bubble burst at primary school on Tuesday - as the law stands does he have to send-isolate or is it guidance only?
I’ve tried to look for it but what I’ve read only refers to being pinged by either apps. Was simply told to pick him up and told to self isolate by the school.

That’s what makes it so confusing. My boy has no signs of it (which I know doesn’t mean a lot) and seems normal.
Just seems odd that there isn’t a clear yes-or-no. To be honest, the reason I’m asking is that this Saturday we’ve booked tickets to an event which we know that the boys will really like. It’s outdoors in a massive park so we’re thinking of still going if it’s guidance only. | | | |

It is really hard, especially when your kids miss out. Fortunately for ours it was things they could do another time once they had finished isolating.
Ultimately everything you do that helps reduce the potential spread of new variants is helping. I hope you can explain it to them and make up to them somehow for what they are going to miss out on. | |

Right now I would avoid big event and do all I can to isolate myself from others where you do attend. | |

Luckily, we didn’t t tell them where we were planning on going as we weren’t sure whether or not the schools and nurseries bubbies would burst again.
We probably will do the right thing - which in itself is quite annoying as there are a lot of people/families out there who won’t even think of self-isolating. | | | |

Quite. Several people trying to genuinely work out what’s required shows what a mockery it is. There’s no chance of keeping people who don’t give monkeys in line. Or people who want to do the right thing but struggle with understanding what’s going on/access to info, etc. |  |
