Seems to be resulting in reduced hospital admissions now...

Poll: This new lockdown poll - what you reckon?

This is good news. Cases are falling for the third week in a row and that is now filtering though to hospital admissions.

And that's two weeks after relaxing the restrictions. Looks like the general public are to be trusted after all.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

...also continues to drop.

8.7% now, which is good news given the lower number of tests conducted.

Fingers crossed.

Also, for a member of "IndySage" to say something positive is very rare.

The Delta variant peaked up here a couple of weeks before it did in England. Only a month ago Scotland was the Covid capital of Europe.

But the cases started dropping and we are down to around 1000 a day.

It is great news. We just need to hope the opening up the borders to all EU and US vaccinated residents today without quarantine doesn't turn us back.

Plus (against advice) the Government are about to relax the rules on hubs like Dubai, Qatar etc saying if you stay "airside" you will be allowed to avoid red quarantine status.

The small problem with that is the mixing and infections are picked up airside as all the connecting flights mix, not in Dubai or Qatar itself

The 7 day death rate is still rising... on 17:58 - Aug 2 with 816 viewsBasuco

On the 2nd July it was 18 death's per day, it has been going up steadily at a rate of 2 or 3 per day and today it is 76, it could be that more people are deleting the covid app and less testing, but the death rate is not falling yet.

The death rate won’t start falling for at least 4 weeks after hospitalisations start falling. That’s always been the case.

Didn't know it took that long to filter through, thanks.
