Think watching it again the ball stopped dead rather than bouncing naturally towards goal.. he pretty much ran past it.

Have watched it a dozen or so times. Yes there was spin on the ball, but you'd still expect him to nod it in. The spin prevented him from tapping it in, but had he decided to use his head he would have scored. He made the wrong decision too early.

From the angle I was at it looked to me that he was going to head it but the bounce made him rethink at the last and by the time he'd had the rethink was past the ball due to the spin back.
