Tech question - iMovie on Mac 15:35 - Oct 13 with 476 viewsThe_Flashing_Smile

Cut a few film clips together by dropping them in iMovie on a mac, for a mate's 50th. Basically dropped them in in order and it seems to work as one long movie (never used iMovie before so was chuffed how easy it seemed to be).

Saved it to my google drive and downloaded to desktop too.

However, when I WeTransfer it to a friend, who's putting everything together for the 50th, she's only getting the sound when she downloads it, not the visuals. What are we (probably me) doing wrong?

What are you exporting it as? If it is a .mov file you could convert it to an .mp4 and see if that helps. Handbrake will convert it if iMovie can't https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php

Alternatively download a free 90 day trial of Final Cut Pro and do exactly the same with the clips and export them into whatever format you want, that’s what I do

How are you exporting the movie? If you are already saving as .mp4 you might have problems with variable frame rates in your original clips. I would advise running the clips through handbrake to clean them up, and then the issues should disappear.

Alternatively it could be any of 100 other issues. Good luck! :)

It is a .mov file yes. Will give Handbrake a go as I can't see how to convert it in iMovie, cheers.
