Suffolk based Oldham fan here; I was at the game today. In all honesty I was dreading it; I felt obliged to go as I'm only up the road but was expecting humiliation. I don't suppose many town fans know the details why would you, but my club is in a desperate state, far and away the worst in my 55 years of support and I, along with many others, fear relegation and much worse.
I was pleasantly surprised that we gave a decent account of ourselves today and very surprised that was something close to your first XI - from the shirt numbers I assumed some were from the youth team!
For those going to the replay you can expect an evening in a stadium that is all but derelict with the atmosphere of a morgue - enjoy! Last season we beat our all time club record for home league defeats by 50% and we are well on track to make that look like a decent effort this time round. |  | | |  |

Given the turmoil at your club, that was a decent away support today. I'm looking forward to what will be only my second trip to your place in around 10 days' time. Hoping it will be fine to have a few pre-season and post-match ales in town and around the ground, understand what's been going on, and enjoy another decent, competitive game.

You should be very proud of your lads
Every player looked comfortable in passing and movement, and your shape was excellent
But critically your work rate and desire was greater than ours
To be fair to Town today we created enough attacking passages of play to then score or carve out true chances…. BUT your defensive work rate, the pressing and critically the blocks and tackles were at times exceptional… the tackle to stop a certain Chaplin goal was as good as the penalty save
Thought your fans also gave a good account of themselves unlike ours who were terrible
I know you’re in a real state but you would not know it
Although you caught Ipswich on one our inconsistent days, if we’d had the energy and fight of Tuesday night and out flair players had been on form we would have destroyed you
But Burns, Celina and Edwards were just not on it

....never good to see a proper football club struggling.
We were heading that way with an owner that didn't have enough money, or more importantly interest and desire, to maintain the club, let alone improve it.
Things look a little brighter for us now, hopefully your tide will turn sooner rather than later.

Your team on the pitch didn't reflect the club off of it. Thought there effort was exceptional. Think we turned up expecting an easy 4-0 win, but forgot that this is the FA Cup and teams below you won't just roll over for you. You should be very proud of that performance and hopefully if they take that into your league games, you will be fine. Glad I can't make the replay, never enjoy going to Oldham and by the sound of it, it has got worse.
