It has always been hard to get footage of this particular match, played in -10 temperatures on snow and ice. Here is the best I've yet to see from the game:
I don’t know what’s the most strange thing about that video. The fact that they were playing with a white ball on a snow covered pitch. Or the style of those goal nets.

Widzew actually played loads of European games on the LKS ground in 80's.
Would be absolutely impossible nowadays due to the huge hatred between the fans of both Lodz clubs.

I know some Widzew fans so I'll ask when I next see them. You could be right. I've also got a book with all the games played by Town under Robson which will have the details.

Which is your Polish club side?
I used to attend Baltyk Gdynia games in the past. They are in the 4th tier these days. Gdynia is a part of aglomeration with Gdansk.
Basically LKS ground had much higher capacity than Widzew in 80's and given how good Widzew was in Europe in 80's people had been doing everything they could to get the tickets. Switching venues was possible those days.

I've been to both ÅKS and Widzew's new stadiums. Both shiny and nice but I prefer the old grounds in many ways.
I was at the old Legia stadium for an international match back in 2005 and I loved it. It was just before the Polish Pope died. Great noise. Strange 70s style scoreboard behind one of the goals.
I haven't been to Gdynia or Gdańsk but have made it to Toruń which isn't far from there. Nice city. Wrocław is my favourite city in Poland I've visited although I've been told Gdańsk is the number one.

Krakow is arguably the most popular destination for many. My Gdynia/Sopot/Gdansk area is particularly busy during the summer.
Yep, ÅKS and Widzew both have rebuilt their stadiums. Both clubs played each other last month and for the first time in 12 years the away fans were allowed to watch the game. Insults both ways and both call each other 'Jews'. The level of hatred is massive therefore large police presence was required.
