Seen and liked previously.

No doubt if Crewe go down they will lose some key players.

Poll: Apologies I'm bored. How many signings will we have by Plymouth at home.

Have spoke here before that I was with Crewe for up until I was 16.

In my final year I played down a group due to my height, and in that group we had some talented players; Tom Lowery, Charlie Kirk, Callum Ainley, Ollie Finney.

Callum Ainley was the best coming through, with Tom there was concerns about his height as well but he’s done very well. Ollie Finney is the one that surprised me, seeing him turn pro. He was a centre forward, but I’d never of thought he’d have turned into a good footballer as well.

didn't they have a really highly rated played who banged a worldie in against us last season or am I confusing them with someone from Swindon?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

He played very much like Joe Allen. Confident on the ball and a good little passer. Ran the midfield in the second half.

That’s Scott Twine. He’s at MK Dons now.

Having an incredible season there as well.

Crewe have had a really tough time of it this summer with players signing then retiring, plus young players basically having a stand off with club until they got their move like Owen Dale.

Lowery was the same earlier this year, and wouldn't sign a new deal without a low release clause in it - it's so much harder for clubs to keep hold of players these days in lower leagues

Indeed.

Think the likelihood is that should they go down - which I imagine they will, will see another group o players like Lowery, Ainley and Offord all leave.

It’s difficult for them, because they produced and used a good of players of the last couple of years, but they don’t have that ability to hold them, when you look at players like Dale, Kirk, Harry Pickering and Ryan Wintle.

With their budget, unless you have another crop coming through the academy it’s difficult to replace that quality of player on their budget, and it’s no surprise they are struggling this year.

And the fees they get are pitiful now, £150k for players like CHarlie Kirk and Perry Ng - it needs to be 10 times that

Indeed not enough, haven’t bought in 7 figures for a single player since Nick Powell went to Man Utd back in 2012.

Thinks it’s due to the reasons you mentioned really. Don’t seem to be in a strong position when negotiating due to contracts.
