In a vain attempt to unite a fractured fan base..... on 10:17 - Dec 8 with 656 views | Hogger | Great post - while we are distracted arguing about what is ultimately just a game, the Tories are shafting us big time and laughing while doing so. My lovely mother-in-law spent last Christmas all on her own with cancer and died in February. Anger does not even begin to describe what my wife and her family feel when they see this...

My only concern is: what are they so desperate to keep out of the news, that this has managed to remain the headline story for a week or more now? [Post edited 8 Dec 2021 10:30]

Awful isn't it. There are hundreds of thousands of people in similar positions. We lost my dad this year. Luckily we did get to see him in the summer, but that was the first time since the pandemic began. He missed a good 18 months of seeing his grandkids grow up because we were adhering to the rules/law. Hopefully now it's become personal and people can really see what they are like there will be a shift against them. I'm surprised people hadn't already worked out they were a bunch of dangerous, law-breaking charlatans, but there we are.

I think this is what they want to keep out of the news, as it's something people can relate to. It's interesting that the two sacrificial lambs (Allegra Stratton and Williamson) have both since left their roles. I wouldn't at all be surprised if this is an attempt to diffuse anger away from the govt onto those individuals.
