...for not coming running into Mark Ashton's welcoming arms.

But surely he'd be insane to come here?

He did a good job for a season at Chelsea.

He turned down Norwich in the prem.

If he came here, League 1 and 11th, he'd be onto a no win situation.

He surely won't really enhance his rep by taking a club with infinitely better resources than 99% of their rivals up out of a terrible division.

He surely would damage (maybe critically) his managerial rep if he failed.

If I were him I really wouldn't come near it.

It isn't like he needs the money.

There is no more to say that Lampard would be good for us as there is to say Neil Harris would be bad for us. I think too many people are being suckered into the big name = big success trap.

Hmm.

I didnt want Lampard anyway. Its as if he's looking for the perfect easy job. Not exactly the right message.

Anyway, on top of that he's so fussed about his perception that he has his media pals make a lot of noise for him. He was never even offered the Norwich job apparently, then as soon as the other guy was clearly going to get it the media started talking about how he'd turned it down.

I wouldn't want that circus here unless we were getting an exceptional manager in return and I dont think we would be with Lampard.
