Been downhill ever since he got injured (post Oldham Away)
Clearly that’s not the reason we’re an abject embarrassment. We’d have probably performed similarly with him but maybe his return could help unlock the curse of ITFC. He’s one of the few players immune from criticism at the moment.
I think him being injured contributed to Cook getting the sack. Bonne's form fell away from that moment. Once the goals dried up, our defensive frailties started to cost us points and put us out of cups. Which was the beginning of the overall slump in confidence.

Using one injury - to admittedly one of Cook's better signings - as an excuse for Town's malaise when we have one of the largest and most expensive squads in this league is pushing it. All clubs have injuries.

It's no excuse. The mistake was having a team which only functioned because of one player. Papering over the cracks.
It shouldn't be like that, there ought to have been flexibility - in formations if necessary. But we've been pretty disjointed in his absence.
I know hindsight is 20:20 and all that but it seemed at the time a strange decision to play him in that game, considering him apparently nursing an injury.
