Pretty reprehensible.
IMO PMs should be limited to serving a maximum no. of years - two terms? I think they get to a point where they think the country will collapse without them being there.

If he wasn't smarmy him, he wouldn't have won 3 elections. That's the double-edged sword to all of this. It's his character and way of operating, including the flaws, that kept the Tories out. People can judge for themselves whether that was worth it, but on balance and given what's happened since I would say it very much was. |  |

Yes, there was always an "act" about him, but I think he believed in the good things Gordon Brown implemented.
