They cosied up to Putin’s Russia repeatedly over the years and took Russian money out of greed. And always believed that NATO was their containment policy and fail-safe way to wield ultimate influence.

The Tories but also Blair and Mandelson in power were no different ... we’re talking about people who consistently put themselves, their interests and their world view first. No wonder we’re in this position when the real world makes itself known. Including those like Putin who (surprise, surprise) want to put their interests and views first.

Sure Hitler is bad and I don't support him, but if the Poles had just listened to his security concerns about East Prussia and not entering into the Anglo-Polish Agreement, none of this would have happened. I don't think the poles get German irony. Their fault, really.
