Might get a few down arrows but disappointed in the McKenna interview... 18:44 - Apr 2 with 1422 viewspointofblue

as it's been reported on here.

He seems fixated on the way we conceded rather than our inability to score. Yes, being tight at the back is great but we are going to concede goals sometimes, and a lot of the time they're going to be silly at this level rather than spectacular. I know he acknowledged our goalscoring issues in the week but that is the greater problem than our defence.

I think he knows what the problems are. We can’t keep putting so much pressure on the defence to keep a clean sheet because if they don’t, we’re in big trouble.

Clearly personnel change will happen in the summer but it is disappointing we so far haven’t found a way to be more prolific. These players have shown they are capable of scoring in this league, even if at the expense of the defence. Would have been nice if McKenna could have found a happy medium but it is what it is now. He is on a learning curve himself and I’m sure we’ll see a benefit of these games next year.

He acknowledged it in the post match interview. He was asked directly about it and said yep straight away.

I think my nagging doubt is our attacking players consist of Burns, Celina, Aluko, Chaplin, Bonne, Norwood and Pigott - that should be an embarrassment of riches at this level and yet we look so blunt. Would a change of personnel really help? Can we bring in any better than we have?

No good being a brilliant bass guitarist, if the band needs a drummer... Doesn't make you a bad musician, just the wrong sort, required for the band...

No use saying "should be" is it?

Burns, Celina, Aluko & Chaplin aren't the problems. Bonne might get his confidence back, but it'd probably help with this if he were transferred in the summer, less pressure on him.

Norwood & Piggot aren't "an embarrassment of riches! 😂

KM will no doubt identify strikers he'd like to be brought in the summer that suit the style of play he's trying to achieve; Ashton & Co. will probably do the biz, and then we'll be readier to properly go 👍

We need to create more from the left flank. Burns was marked out of the game today. Thompson isn’t anywhere near good enough in an attacking sense. Penney might as well play if he can get crosses in.
