With the flavour of news mostly geared towards contracts it is encouraging that the club seems to be moving towards decisive actions before the squad leave for the summer rather than a mad scrab once they return.

It is vital we have the bulk of our team in place for the preseason friendlies. Whilst the results of those games don't matter, the way we play does (particularly the later half)
- and we were shocking last preseason.

I hope this is the start of the transfer window as such, having a clear idea on who goes rather than Paul Cooks impression of a pis5head playing football manager.

It was like Supermarket Sweep, just without Dale going wild in the aisles.

McKenna has already said he has players lined up for each position to monitor, so let's hope we can put together a more coherent squad this time around.

Just the way the questioning went. Not too much else to ask about at this stage of the season.

What about the inflatable banana in aisle 7? Surely a clue about Celina?

Might be interesting to ask him how he plans to run his first preseason. I'm sure this has to be quite an exciting time for him where he'll finally be able to look at it as his team and his campaign rather than wrapping up the mess he walked in on

Assume pre-Charlton will be the last chance to talk to McKenna in depth, can you ask if he knows anything about pre-season and does he plan on having a holiday

I think the greater detail on pre-season will be addressed when we speak to him at the start in June. They have said they're not going abroad if you didn't spot it. Andy Rolls talked about it at the Fans' Forum:

On those pre-season plans Rolls added: “I would say this pre-season has been quite difficult. We obviously don’t know when the season’s ending, we want the season to go as long as possible.

“That’s been quite tricky, so we’ve got several options in progress at the minute. We’re desperate to go to Austria, I know the manager knows that area for pre-season, the mountains give great energy for pre-season.

“So we looked extensively at that, however, we thought the way the world is at the minute, Ukraine, Covid, the decision was made probably by us three that we were going to stay in Britain this year.

“We’ve got a few different options and it depends on when we finish. The games programme is coming together, we will be having a week away somewhere.

“We’re definitely staying in Britain, when and where and who, we’re still working on. It’s very flexible at this moment.”
