Another day, another u-turn 16:30 - Apr 25 with 673 viewsHARRY10

"Priti Patel’s refugee pushback policy has been officially withdrawn by the government days before a judicial review of the tactic was due to be heard in the high court."

meanwhile

"Fewer than 200 asylum seekers would be deported to Rwanda under existing immigration rules, a new analysis shows, casting doubt over Boris Johnson’s claim that “tens of thousands” would be removed under the plan."

Which is pretty much in lime with Gove's words "we've had enough of experts", so the likes of Patel, Rees-Mogg, Dorries and other known idiots are left to have a go.

"The fact is the government was warned for several years prior to leaving the EU that it needed an alternative extradition arrangement to the Dublin Regulation if it planned to leave it; the government — and notably Priti Patel — simply did not take any notice. "

So we are stuck with a serial incompetent chopping and changing, clueless as to what to do. Trapped in the idiotic rhetoric of Brexit.

Yep, it is easy to say 'told you so', almost daily about brexit, the problem is how to move forward while stuck with blinkered Brexit/Tory dogma. Wiser heads would suggest that the billions this will eventually cost could be netter used, instead, to process claims much faster.

But this would go against Tory dogma of vilifying the civil service. So that waiting list grows longer, ports are unable to cope with Brexit legislation, and the introducing of the much vaunted 'control our borders' by checking imports is set to be put back a fourth time.

In contrast have the latter day Blondel, a wondering wastrel, away from his desk waddling around the country in search of new h-viz jackets to put on for a photo opportunity. Never mind inflation, the cost of living rise or the massive housing shortage.... here's a fat bloke in a road sweepers jacket leering at the camera.

Eat your heart out Nero.

A mixed reaction to this. Whilst U-turns are painted as bad, we need more of them on the dreadful policies this Government is enacting. Good they have dropped one but they need to completely drop the other too.

It should also be remembered that they are only backing down due to the fact there is so much opposition to their policies and not because they do not believe in the horrific policies in the first place.

is my memory playing tricks or is Pretty Awful herself a second-generation immigrant to this scepter'd isle? If so how does she reconcile her own back story to her proposed treatment of some of the most vulnerable people on the planet?

She’s a Tory, there is no need for reconciliation in a cult based on selfishness

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
