Does anyone follow this anymore?

Apparently 45 years after The Sex Pistols some upstarts have a hit on their hands despite not having a record label.h

Apologies if already posted discussed, my memory is so bad I tried to pay off my credit card twice this week.

On a side issue do CD singles still exist with BSides?

What about those free discs that music mags used to give away?

I remember Q magazine used to give away some very good CDs. Think I have one featuring Blur and Ray Davis (sic?) singing Waterloo Sunset. Superb.

Aren’t there different charts now? One for downloads and different ones depending on who’s running them? No idea!

Lol, sounding like a middle-aged dad.

Apparently vinyl now outsells any other physical product, so what goes around comes around. The last vinyl record I had was Dumbo when I was about 5. Are they worth it over the ease of downloading?

I recently tried to explain to my 15-year-old that you used to buy singles when they came out and then wait for an album. To a kid raised on YouTube and Spotify what I was saying made no sense.

I still look occasionally and I have the iTunes top 40 playlist automatically update each week. But I can’t remember the last time I played it.

I’m reminded of a thread I did a while back about skipping the album reviews in the music mags as I rarely recognise the acts being reviewed.

I think I lasted a bit longer with TOTP maybe up to 91 which was into my early 20s.

I'm talking pre CD flexi discs; a piece of thin flexible plastic into which grooves were cut and it could be played on a record player
