It’s Stephen, and I’m ashamed he has it spelt like that.

No wonder he was demoted from that league!

He shouldn't be reffing in any league tho, they should have booted him out altogether - or at least made him do a refresher course & have an eye test before being allowed to officiate in any further games.

the consequence of that though is who fills his space ?

I dont get the impression there are scores of quality refs being held back by the likes of yesterdays ref because there are too many of them and not enough games to officiate.

Transparency and accountability are important. It won’t stop mistakes happening - refs are human after all - but yesterday’s ref should be forced to reveal his thinking on why he disallowed the Harness “goal”. I’m sure he’d give some generic “it looked like he was pushing the defender from my view on the pitch” but refs having to explain their reasoning would be an important step in restoring some trust.

To be fair that would be the fault of his parents. Actually it is all the fault of his parents.

He should have a sign hung from his neck and be forced to walk the streets of Ipswich for a month.

Only when a man has walked among the empty retail units of the piss-stained Golden Mile for a month will he come to realise the error of his ways.
