‘Three Russian men who were called up to fight in the war in Ukraine have died at an army training centre in Poroshino in Russia’s Yekaterinburg region, according to Novaya Gazeta.
Russian state Duma lawmaker, Maxim Ivanov, was cited by a local news outlet as saying:
Yes, I confirm that three people have died. One of the mobilised men died from a heart attack, another one committed suicide. The third one was discharged and sent home, where he died from cirrhosis of the liver.
Another news outlet earlier reported the suicide of a 46-year-old from the Kurgan region, whose body was reportedly found in the canteen of the Poroshino army training centre.’

It's hard not to feel sorry for those who have been forced to sign up isn't it.
We can assume many would have no choice and don't want to be there. Many have been sentenced to death by being sent to a situation they want no part of with probably hardly any skills to survive let alone make a difference.
You would hope some might use the opportunity to run or even switch allegiance but for those who have families back home they are in an impossible situation.
Fight people you don't want to fight or die either way. |  |

I think desertion would bring some form of retribution to their families. And the evidence coming out suggests they are just being used as untrained cannon fodder.
Modern war means you can be blown to smithereens without being anywhere near the front.
There are plenty of non Russian fanatics all too willing to commit atrocities, it was one of the causes of German soldiers fighting to the bitter end. a very sorry and sickening position to be in.
And I suspect most of the Russian men, who have fled over the border, were well aware of this. | | | |

It's horrendous. It's 2022 and press gangs are in operation in Europe, propagating a war nobody wants and which nobody will 'win'. |  |
