Aside from joining a new club, getting used to the surroundings and the manager and team mates, he’s also gone through the journey of a heavily pregnant partner to a new baby and all the disruption that goes with that.
I think he’s been mostly outstanding but the lack of goals around the time that his personal life was probably at it’s most intense and disruptive is probably no real shock.
Great that he’s found his groove, got amongst the goals and hopefully he is managing to get a bit of sleep now! |  | | |  |

“My partner has just had a baby so currently she’s at home looking after her, but sooner or later she will be there in the stadium singing I’m sure,” Ladapo said with a smile.
“I get to see them as soon as I finish football and that’s the best thing I can ask for. It’s not easy at all, some nights are sleepless and some nights are great, but when you get to go home from football and see them it makes it all right.
“You deal with it how you deal with it because you get used to do things a certain way, but you do sometimes wake up in the morning on two hours sleep and have to pick yourself up. You have to try and be a good work colleague because you might be a bit cranky.
“A nice coffee sorts that out.”
Sleepless nights before the goals didn’t flow, then double sleepless nights, must’ve been tired!

The bit which jumped out of the interview for me was: '... he knew where I was going, I knew where he was going to play the ball ...' - so different from some previous seasons when we looked horribly disjointed and the majority of passes seemed to go astray. |  |

remember some years back, Chambers done a really good interview about his wife having post natal depression, and how it massively effected him too.
Then once things all calmed down he was able to concentrate on his football etc.
need to remember these blokes are just like us, if the home life has bumps and issues then work takes a hit. it is what it is.
so hats off to Ladapo for being very good without the added bonus of his goals whilst this was ongoing for him |  |

Nah, that’s just being a wuss. Separate home life from work and crack on. Let the misses deal with that side, man up and bang in a few goals. That’s my advice!
Only joking! You are dead right, of course. We do get a one dimensional view of people in the public eye, including footballers. In most walks of life you can get away with being a bit distracted in the workplace if you have serious stuff going on domestically, but not if you are a sports person.
Even before he started scoring, I thought Ladapo was a good player from what I’d seen of him. Fitness permitting I reckon he’s going to get better as the season progresses too. |  | | |
