We didn’t play badly today, dominated a game and produced statistics that 9 times out of 10 would & should earn a win. No point in lamenting over a striker we haven’t got, nor will ever get while in this league. This team is easily good enough as it is and will get us out of this sh*te division this season at a canter.

Keep the faith - it’s obvious.

Note to self, change ID name because we already have (it’s been a while)

I have to agree. Whilst the first half wasn't great, other than the goal we didn't look in any trouble. I think it was only in injury time in the second half that I conceded to myself we weren't actually going to score.

I love the way the team doesn't panic, sticks to the plan and keeps going. It didn't come off today but it's the sign of winners.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

If the plan is to continue to (slowly) try to play through the middle of a set defence regardless then the plan needs to change.

Agreed, I think we need to vary our approach sometimes.

I think you watched a different game to me. We looked to move them around and change the angle of attack quickly to open them up. 33 attempts on goal suggests it worked pretty well. Unfortunately the finishing left something to be desired.

Yes maybe I did watch a different game.

I certainly watched a game where we mostly moved the ball (slowly) from side to side in front of a well set defence (again). A game where we had numerous shots at goal but few on target. A game where I could have run from my seat to mark a man at the far post but our defenders from considerably closer could not. A game where I thought our manager should have made changes at half time to liven up and alter our approach.

For me we weren't unlucky we were simply not good enough (at least on the day). And that's not good enough for me.

The perspective is that we are in season four in the old 3rd Division and we’ve lost at home to a team half way down it having struggled against the bottom team last week. The perspective is that Sheffield Weds are improving and Plymouth are winning with absolute ease most weeks - and may well run away with it this year.

My perspective is that we have brilliant support, the club itself is improving in every way and getting stronger. Overall, only a real idiot can fail to appreciate how we’ve moved on in the last 18 months.

The team needs to take the next step. We must win our home games and put teams like this away. Other managers will look at what Lincoln did and replicate it. Most will fail but some won’t and that’ll be enough to consign us to another year in this rubbish league, unless we learn the lesson and do something about it - including finding possibly a natural goalscorer.

Agree with all of that.

We have plenty of players who have an eye for goal but not a centre forward goal machine.

The biggest concern is how have Plymouth, having spent much less money and having sold us arguably their best player (albeit injured), put themselves in a position where they're winning with ease whilst we're limping past the bottom side then failing to convert thirty chances.
