McKenna seemed to suggest that TJJ is back at arsenal for a few weeks and then he’d be back with us, but that the injury is typically 3-4 months. Does this suggest that we’re lining up a permanent move for him in January? I would think if he’s out for 3-4 months we’d be ending the loan, returning him to arsenal permanently and finding someone else?

Makes you wonder. Hamstring surgery doesn’t sound like a quick injury to come back from. Big window coming up for us. Huge.

Might mean the time frame is a little shorter? He'll by approaching nearly 3 months post-surgery at the end of the window.

I asked KMc today and he said three to four months. He wasn't sure when asked previously, said it wouldn't be clear until he'd had the surgery.

On that basis, do you think we would send him back and de-register him then Phil, if it's 4 months?

Kieran didn't suggest that that might be the case. Might not be possible under the terms of the deal with Arsenal, often if a player gets injured with you you're stuck with him and his wages. Doesn't make any difference 22-man squad-wise, of course.

Cheers. Yep completely forgot he's not classed in the 22, still, not ideal paying someone who won't play for a significant period of thier loan.

Not ideal, but would put us in a good position to sign him permanently in the Summer if he got going again.

He won't be on high wages, and we won't be paying all of them anyway - its as much in Arsenal's interests as our that he gets proper game time.

Poll: would you rather
