I get we don't want him to go full Cook but saying he was enjoying the game up to the goal, and accepting a performance of that level as one of those things is a concern, and might explain why we're so weak mentally.
Yes, we can't play at our best all of the time. But there's a massive gap between our best and what we saw tonight. |  |

He's normally logical and analytical. Which means he rarely comes out with things that make no sense.
But this time, he says he wouldn't have felt any different if we'd won, but that he's gutted at what happened.

Not his finest hour, but I think it’s very much about something to say soon after a game when emotions are raw. He’s on record talking about never being too high after a good win or too low after a poor result and by and large I think that’s the way to go, if you can do it.
He’s not blind. He knows what the shortcomings were and what needs to be done. |  | | |
