Burgess has done well against teams that launch it in the air but I think last night showed for me why I prefer Edmundson (not a popular opinion I know). On numerous occasions he just hoofed it forward (including one excellent impression of the John Smiths advert) which just gave possession back to Fleetwood and on another occasion he attempted a bizarre backheel next to our own box which let them in for a chance they would have scored if the forward hadn't slipped. If Edmundson had done that backheel the forum would immediately have been alight with posts, there is a clear double standard in my opinion and I'm not sure why. Burgess definitely has a job in this squad but I would like to see Edmundson back in, I'd even like us to revert back to a proper back 3 with wingbacks but I don't think that is going to happen. I did think JD was back to his best tonight, really throwing himself into challenges when it was required. SB [Post edited 3 Dec 2022 9:08]

But the truth is there is little in any of the sides on their day, Charlton the team that put four past us couldn't put one past Cheltenham last night, the side we battered 1-1(another crazy result where we had so many chances)...Port Vale went to Plymouth and won two nil, what odds were they last night? Posh, strong at home lost to Barnsley... Organized sides with players having come through decent academies finding themselves in League One has closed all gaps from decent sized Clubs like ours to Clubs like Fleetwood and Port Vale etc.. The harsh reality, with a fully fit squad we have the overall quality in depth, but depleted like we are now and we pretty much get matched up.. | | | |

Edmundson has a habit of giving the ball away under no pressure whatsoever. [Post edited 3 Dec 2022 9:25]
