A horrible example of illogical behaviour around vaccines 09:13 - Dec 8 with 1896 views | StokieBlue | Essentially the parents of a four month old boy who has a congenital heart defect and requires life-saving surgery refused to allow the surgery unless the blood being used could be proven to be "unvaccinated". "They said they were concerned about the possible health impacts of their child receiving blood from vaccinated donors." They are more concerned about the possible (non-existent in reality) health impacts of receiving blood from someone vaccinated against C19 than they are about their sons congenital heart defect which would likely have the very real health impact of their son dying. The courts decided to grant guardianship of the boy to medical specialists with regards to this matter but not any others so he will receive the life-saving surgery he needs. https://news.sky.com/story/sick-baby-taken-into-courts-custody-after-parents-ref I just despair at the mental gymnastics which must have been required for the parents to come to the conclusion that blood which could contain antibodies (it wouldn't contain the vaccine itself) is more dangerous than an actual life-threatening heart defect. A horrible example of illogical behaviour around vaccines on 09:20 - Dec 8 with 1836 views | itfcjoe | When my wife's uncle was a baby he was very ill, and need a full blood transfusion - must have been mid-late 60s. His parents lived on a street where lots of Jehovahs Witnesses did and almost became pariahs as they were lobbying them not to go ahead with blood transfusion for him because they don't believe in them. Whether it be religion, or crank science, there will always be people with ridiculous beliefs that put people in danger - at least it is easier to call out bad science than religion

They've made such a mental decision, that it must call into question their capability to be good parents in future.

As a regular blood donor I can't recall ever being asked if I have had a Covid vaccine and it is not a question that is asked prior to donating either, so I can't see how they would know. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Fun fact - not getting your kids jabbed is one of many red flags that children may potentially be on the receiving end of parental abuse, either via (intentional or unintentional)neglect or deliberate harm. Its not taken as a sign in isolation, but it's a tick in a box of a whole load of other behaviours and signs. Given that they've gone this far with this delusional madness it does make one wonder what other harms they're potentially inflicting on their kids. In this case, it's been successfully argued that they're causing active harm to their child thanks to their lunatic beliefs and irrational insistence on something which isn't realistically deliverable. +1 and Bankster, I did say 'call into question' - i would never suggest taking a baby of parents lightly - its an utter last resort, but this case does make you wonder about the kid's future.

Agreed. I had thought they would have to arrange the logistics at their expense.

A horrible example of illogical behaviour around vaccines on 14:05 - Dec 9 with 1052 views | StokieBlue | Update: The baby boy has had the life-saving heart operation and is doing well. The parents originally agreed to not interfere after the decision but then the courts were forced to issue a minute against them as they were preventing the doctors preparation for the operation. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/dec/09/new-zealand-baby-w-case-boy-has-su SB
