Have you noticed a huge surge in the number of promoted tweets you’re seeing? Almost every other tweet is some promoted sheeite. 100% of them are garbage, irrelevant and a bunch of rubbish. (As in it’s not ads for well known brands, it’s all promoted tweets from “life coaches”, patent peddlers, pharma companies… just a bunch of nonsense)
This started yesterday. Anyone else seeing this? I block them as fast as I see them but they just keep coming |  |

Yes, see exactly the same. It is not as bad if using Tweetdeck rather than the app. I guess with many advertisers pulling out, Elon has to start making money through other means. |  | | |

I wondered that but the ones I’m seeing are not from blue ticks; just utterly random nonsense. Just now a random guy from the Netherlands with 16 followers tweeting about New Year’s Eve. Beyond ridiculous but probably what happens when there’s a psychotic man-child in charge.

It’s a tsunami of irrelevant bulls5it. Clicking the “why this ad” option gives the answer “such and such is trying to reach people aged 13 and over and living in the US”. Way to go and really zero in on your target audience!

I believe that if you change from "home" to "latest tweets" at the top centre of the screen you get fewer ads/ promos.
It's more of a "pull" rather than "push" feed. You may lose some stuff you want to see ... |  | | |
