Dismantled a Championship team, it could easily have been 6 and barring a couple of moves early in the game they were comfortably second best. The goal they did score was us hitting self destruct.
Seems highly likely in the next couple of days we will see Broadhead/Hirst announced to give us more fire power/options. Two players that both notched 13 goals last season and should be top end L1 players.
Plymouth drew and have lost Whittaker and now their captain for next weeks game.
We need to get the place rocking next weekend. Huge game and we should go into it with a real confidence and swagger.

Today could be a real momentum shifter on 08:16 - Jan 8 with 861 views
Certainly an important win. I like what we have been doing in cups recently, the team looked way more on the same page then we’ve seen in the past from a mix and match 11. That can only be good for training ground morale, if your back up rotation group is in a good place that’s good for the starters in the group.
Certainly gives us a marker of sorts against the bottom end of the division above. Think it really depends how the new signings bed in and what that does to the complexion of the squad.
Rotherham weren’t good though and didn’t test us. We can put a lot down to ourselves but they also looked like a team that’s been struggling for wins and points in the league. They were a better team or at least a much bigger challenge last year.
It’s definitely a very positive result but not as positive as Sheffield Weds result beating Newcastle or still as positive as Plymouth’s widening points advantage. So even on momentum grounds I think we’re playing catch-up.
We still need to step it up a notch relative to Plymouth and Sheff Weds, probably including wins against both of them over the next few weeks.
