January fixture predictions 08:58 - Jan 1 with 1679 viewsPioneerBlue

Nearing the business end of the season. ITFC is currently well placed to be contending for promotion, automatic or otherwise. This could be a big month for any promotion rivals that get a run going.

Three league home games and a cup game. 5 league games in total including one of the most important in years.

I’m going to say we will end on a three game winning run but start with 2 draws. This will make for difficult league table reading as we hit mid Jan but by going into Feb we will be looking strong…

Prediction is 11 points from 15 and a cup win!

Lincoln City A
Rotherham United (FAC R3) H
Plymouth Argyle H
Oxford United A
Morecambe H
[POSTPONED: Accrington Stanley H] Burnley H

Edit:
It was pointed out that with a predicted FA Cup win one of the games will be postponed at the end of the month. Revised total prediction, 8 points out of 4 league games.

If, as you predict, we reach the fourth round the Accrington game will be rearranged.

That puts a spanner in the works!

We could look even further behind with Plymouth out of the FA Cup.

Revised total, 8 points out of 4 games.

I have a feeling me may win at Lincoln and also beat Plymouth

Tomorrow’s result may hinge a little on how fit the squad is given the illness in the camp

I think we may give Plymouth a very good game and show some superiority in player quality and set-up in front of the largest crowd of the season.

In between we’re going to make a quality signing. In the form of a striker. We’ll also get cover for Morsy/Ball.

My crystal ball has spoken.

Poll: How do you rate the new home kit out of 5?

We could be 7 behind Plymouth when we travel to Lincoln tomorrow which puts a bit of extra pressure on that game - they are unbeaten at home this season so they must be due to lose!

If we don't win at Lincoln the Plymouth game becomes virtually 'must win' - and Plymouth would in those circumstances come to PR knowing a win for them could put a massive gap between us - especially if they win while we are in the FA Cup. If we beat Rotherham we have another FA Cup game while Plymouth will have another league fixture.

In short, anything could happen - we could be top at the end of January or we could be 10+ points behind. Predictions are

Lincoln - Win
Rotherham (Cup) - Win
Plymouth - Win
Oxford - Win
Morecambe - Win
Accrington - P-P

Really don’t care how far away from Plymouth we are, it’s 3rd place we need to be clear of.

The thing to remember is Plymouth are where they as the result of a magnificent home record. They have two difficult away games Bolton & Ipswich.

Our target is top two and to remain there will be down to our results and nobody else’s.

There was near consensus on a win against Plymouth. Let’s see how this one goes. Coyb

Trending to the lower end of expected range, a win against Morecambe will present 5 league points from 4 games.

The expectation that the league table would provide difficult reading was expected but it’s a bit worse than anticipated.

Never factored a win against Burley but let’s see what we can do!

Feb is now a very important month in terms of how difficult or easy we make the end of the season given the games we have coming up.
