So doctors are to be over ruled by 'work coaches' ?
I have personal experience of this when I accompanied a friend to a work interview. I pushed him in his heelchair. He had been diagnosed with MND. At that stage he could just about walk a few steps and the chair was not electrinic.
We were interviewed by some shiny faced 20 something, who did not seem to grasp what MND was and that it was terminal, as she proceeded to draft up a work plan.
An extreme examople I appreciate, but it should be a medical decision, not a labour shortage that is the dtermining factor
Employment has stopping being an enjoyable experience for many individuals and whole sectors...teachers, nurses, doctors even lorry driver and couriers. Recent tales from Amazon and the constant drop in real wages have seen many who can retire, do just that retire.
I exect te break during the pandemic demonstrated to many that they did not need the money and could enjoy the remaining part of their life at a far slower pace.
This is all too reminiscent of Germany 1945 where anyone with more than two limbs was pressed ganged in the army (Volksturm) to fight a pointless last ditch battle. This cretinist government is trawling through the sick, the disabled and the mentally unsuitable to fill a massive whole of their own making.
Hamstrung by their own lies they seem unable to address freedom of movement which would allow access to tens of millions of fit, and qualified workers on the UKs doorstep.
Odd how those jobs the brexiters claimed were being taken from them are not being filled now brexiters have the chance.

Yes. It is all very well to say we need to wait for the thickos to grasp the damage they have caused, but at what cost to the country ?
Aside from the long term personal harm that lunacy caused, it is not only having a detrimental effect on the economy as a whole but to individual businesses.
The latest unemployment figures show a rise. Possibly due to the large number of small/medium businesses closing.
This latest idiocy will not solve the problem of a skills shortage, but will simply put stress on people and result in more more costly appeals.

We’re going to have to wait a little bit longer yet for “the thickos to grasp the damage they have caused” (after the revolution, I’ll appoint you as Chief Diplomat  . It’s coming though. There’s only so long they can try to ignore the reality of the consequences. | |
