Mobile Sim only monthly contract 20:08 - Feb 27 with 1001 views | Pinewoodblue | Just received SMS message from Virgin mobile confirming price increase from 1st April. Going up by RPI + 3.9%. Phoned Virgin and changed contract now have unlimited calls instead of 1500 a month and 5GB instead of 4GB. Under old contract would be paying £9.50 a month but under new contract paying just £6 with no increase until 2024. It might be worthwhile checking if you could be better off on a new contract. They told me I have been a customer for nearly 22 years. Have had two phones with them all those years. Think the the first contract was more than £6 a month and was calls and text only and for 100 minutes a month.

I think it is they know they are well overcharging and so are happy to cut the price Still far more expensive than what can be had elsewhere, and often tied to a long contract Currently £1.49 for me - unlimited calls texts and 5gb data

Two phone contracts for 22 years. Change actual phone every so often. They are a lot lighter than they used to be.

Total increase 17.4% as you say a pisstake. Change contract every 2-3 years and it is always less, could probably get it cheaper if I shopped around.
