Not quite budget, but related. I heard on Times Radio in the car this morning that the Tories have come up with an ingenious way to tackle ambulance call outs not meeting their targets.
More ambulances? Better pay for paramedics? Revamping the service to cut wastage?
No, and this is brilliant. The minimum call out time required to attend a heart attack victim was set at 18 minutes. Their answer - increase the time limit. It's now set at 30 minutes. Fantastic stuff. I mean, more people may well die but at least the callout figures will look better!
