My goodness what a night. So glad i made a late decision to grab a ticket and be there. First 40 mins the sides were evenly matched, although Luongo struck the angle of the bar and Hirst missed a one on one from a tight angle, Barnsley moved the ball well and played a similar style I thought to us. A good side. But then a corner, flicked in by Broady - who was absolutely immense tonight - and the deadlock was broken. Minutes later Hirst, who was dragged nearly to the floor, fought off his defender and smacked a shot into the top corner. Amazing. Scenes in the away end that will live in the memory for a long time.

The half time whistle went and the party continued down in the bar area. The noise was terrific. Everyone smiling. We knew. We knew. We're going up. Second half we won a dubious pen, Broady went down the middle but hit the keepers legs. No matter. The blue army kept singing. Barnsley had now answer. Norwood got hooked and trudged off, he knew we'd all moved on.

We thought we'd won a penalty, time stopped still and everyone stopped except for Chappers lofted the ball over their keeper into an empty net for 3. Absolute carnage broke out as the crowd surged to the front. The home support reduced to chucking objects onto the pitch and obscene chants, prompting rebukes from the stadium announcer. The whistle went. My god what a night.

We could have won by five or six. Against the best side I've seen us play this season, apart from Burnley. Amazing. What a team we have, so together with so much talent, tactically so well drilled and working so hard for each other. From back to front - Walton made some huge saves to keep his clean sheet intact. Burgess, immense. Morsy, the engine room. Burns did tear them apart again, put in some wicked crosses. 1-11, outstanding effort lads.

We are going up - that is all. Our team did us proud tonight.

Excellent. Never been in an away end as loud as that. I’m back in Sheffield in bed and massively sleep deprived but still feel restless and full of adrenaline.

Hopefully Saturday we get it done. Will make all the sh1te of the last few years seem worthwhile.

It was fantastic! That rendition of 'Blue Army' when the physio was on was incredible.
The boys put on a McKenna masterclass tonight and we loved it.
We CAN have nice things!

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

That really was class and all the better as I think it was still 0-0 at the time.
