Morsy, his faith, and the celebrations 14:42 - May 1 with 2562 viewsZx1988

Very much an idle thought, rather than getting at anything in particular.

No sign of Morsy in any of the dressing room celebration videos, which is understandable given his strong Muslim faith and the amount of alcohol flying around.

I just wonder what he went and did until things had died down and it was 'safe' to be in the room again. It must be tough, sometimes, being a Muslim sportsman in a sport/culture where celebration and alcohol seem to be inextricably linked.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

I did see a crate of 0.0% Peronis on the table too. He is a strong character and I am sure understands its a cultural thing of alcohol being linked with celebrating Also respect to him for taking himself away from it if that is what he felt was best. A great character and we are fortunate to have him as club captain.

Nothing but respect for him and all of this group of players.

Yes I wasn't sure when I saw the fizz spraying around the pitch - remember Moeen Ali and Rashid had to scarper quickly after the cricket world cup final when the champagne started being sprayed.

Liked the interview Morsy did recently on his faith - very good perspective.

He had his family with him (as they all did) so I'd imagine he spent some quality time with them and maybe the other families too.

Maybe he was baby sitting for the squad while they all went out, he’s a big softie really.

Same with Feroze Khushi when Essex won the County Champs a few years ago.

I might be making this up, but I think the celebratory champagne handed out has been alcohol free for a number of seasons now, for this exact reason.

Watching Town in 25, you can see that Morsy was still able to be in the room, and just chose to cover his head with a towel.

That's made me really happy to see he felt that he could still be a part of the celebrations, rather than having to miss the most pure and spontaneous part of it all.

Looks like the same applied for Camara as well.

Yes, you can see them both in the background with towels over their heads but still jumping up and down and enjoying the moment.
