Conference/National League Play-Off Finals - 2003-2023
Perhaps a bit late in the day to be posting this but hopefully it’ll get noticed in the morning...
I thought I’d make this little quiz after Saturday’s National League promotion final at Wembley. Play-offs were introduced to the Conference for the 02/03 season and a total of 31 different clubs have appeared in the final since then. There are eight minutes to try and correctly guess them all. Two teams have each appeared in three separate finals, both losing two and winning one.
This quiz is on the fifth-tier National League, formerly the Conference Premier, and doesn’t include the North and South divisions.

Very good!
I’d say it wasn’t too difficult to have missed out on those two winners from recent years as the 18/19 final was contested by two plastic teams and was attended by about three people and the following year it was played behind closed doors and was won by a team a lot of people wouldn’t have been aware of until a few years ago. | |

I do wonder if we will end up with a fully-professional fifth tier that is brought under the control of the EFL (League Three?) seeing as the National League is almost entirely professional and there are so many notable ex-League clubs in there.
It’s interesting to look at the teams, including the bigger names, that have played in that play-off final and to see some of them a division or two (or three) above non-League now, as well as some of the lesser sides that are still yet to make the EFL but who may do in the coming years. Surely three up, three down will come in at some point? | |
