Fit and proper test once again showing just how effective it is. How many owners will this be
in the past 4 or 5 years?

Birmingham have new owners as well - https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tom-wagner-birming

Charlton are also in the process of a takeover - no idea whether this will result in a significant cash injection.

They are in a fairly sorry state at the moment, a club of their size should be at least pushing for playoffs. I know a season ticket holder of over 30 years who binned it off last season and their overall attendances have been poor.

It makes you wonder if Ipswich has inadvertently triggered a lower league takeover frenzy. We sold at just the right time by the looks of it (well, maybe about 10 years too late, but still)

Another classic example of what poor owners can do to a club.

Having said that their problems can be traced all the way back to the supporters not being satisfied with mid table finishes in the Premiership.

That really was a case of be careful what you wish for!

There was an article about US investment in the lower leagues in the Athletic. Some teams I wasn’t aware of - including Lincoln, Crawley, and even Plymouth. In terms of potential though few compare to ITFC, good stadium and infrastructure (in spite of Evans), history, huge catchment area for growing the fanbase, and a well known name.

The Americans can’t compete with the oligarchs, despots, and oil barons of the Premier league, but lower league you can buy in for less investment and for potentially big returns by getting up the ladder. Our lower leagues are also incredibly well supported compared to most countries.

Towards the end of last season, I thought there were some green shoots of recovery, it will be interesting to see if that amounts to anything

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

The supposed buyer is the guy who’s been failing to buy Morecambe for the last six months. Wigan are in big trouble

This guy again? I remember having great fun going through his company accounts one afternoon and realising he had no money. The whole thing was really bizarre.

Youngest manager in the European top flight for Reims, with Reims being fined £22k each time he takes charge? Will Still English/ Belgium manager.

He's still studying for his UEFA Pro Licence and therefore is 'technically' not allowed to manage a club in the top flight but Reims having none of it as they are on a cracking run within him leading the club.

As an aside, he's not without a lot of experience as an assistant and also manager.

Lots of links to the likes of the Fail and Shun but I won't link them here.

Love it!

It’s very very bizarre. Nothing seems to add up with this fella. And of course, the bigger question is, even if he has money, why is he seemingly desperate to get involved with small clubs such as Morecambe and Wigan where the only realistic outcome is to lose lots of money.

Laundering is not an unrealistic possibility. Not specifically for this guy, but for anyone really.

You can say that again.

Last time I looked the problem with this guy was that he was prepared to pay well over the odds for Morecambe but couldn’t explain to the EFL where his money comes from!

If he gets his hands on any club it’s a dangerous precedent.

Yes, just spent 15 mins on Companies House - of the 7 companies he has, 5 are so new they've not yet filed accounts and the other two have accounts overdue! Both companies are skint too.

If he passes the "Fit and Proper Persons" test, we may as well all pack up and go home.

THIS IS DEMOC-RRRRRRR-ACY MANIFEST!
