Wow, he was brave! I don’t suppose a recording of any of this stuff remains. I hope he did well.
Curiously, one of my sister’s best friends appeared on the ‘real’ show many years ago. She’s uber intelligent, knows her stuff etc. You know, one of the front of the class brigade. She died like a louse in a Russians beard on both her subject and the general knowledge.
Having knowledge is one thing, recalling it is another. Requires a fair bit of bottle to give that a go though, even if you’ve the brains for it - which I certainly haven’t! | | | |

I am sure I have seen an excerpt from it since then (and not that long ago), but I can't remember where. I'll have a word with him when I next see him

I remember that he won. In fact, we won all of the warm-up competitions and I recall my Mum telling me that had to be a lucky omen for the main event. |  | | |
