I hope he does well there.

I think his last goal for us came against Gillingham at the beginning of 2022 in what was McKenna’s second game in charge.

Really pleased he has got himself a club and hope he finds the net numerous times this season.

Mind-blowing Gillingham fact is that the word “Gills” is spelt in the horse’s mane in their badge.

A slightly sloppy summary of his career there; he went from Orient to Charlton.

Gillingham have a stronger squad than a lot of League 1 clubs, (- as do several other L2 clubs.) Gillingham are certainly a club with re-enthused support.

Don't worry, Colchester won't go down. What are your expectations for this season.

Every year I'm absurdly optimistic. This time we start the season with a proper manager (one that has experience from other clubs) for the first time in MANY years. Some interesting young loan signings so far, and I expect a couple more in-their-prime signings before the end of the month. (Perhaps more if Junior Tchamadeu is sold, which still seems likely.) Recruitment has been mostly good recently.

Last season, from January the U's record was the 10th best in the league, so I guess the realistic hope would be about the same as that, tenth.

I think attendances may be noticeably up, partly because of things being freshened up at the club, but more because League 2 seems to be getting more attention in general. (I think Portman Road being full is also a good thing.)

I saw a few videos wanting the owner out. I don't know anything about Colchester or their finances but am guessing that the owner is keeping the club afloat.
