“ Jewellout in a job for another year. ” Little did we know that worse was to come….ME just had the most appealing record on managers. That’s an astonishingly long time since overturning a 2 goal deficit, a credit to the character of the players we’ve brought in, and makes me glad we didn’t bring in any panic buys.

Well, there was that game at Birmingham, which ended 2-2. I remember Mick's team doing the same at Brentford on the opening day one season having completely dominated for 89.5 minutes.

Geoffers - if you’ve played much footie you’ll know that if you’re 2-0 down you won’t feel that the game is lost. You always feel that if you can just get one back youre in with a shout again, and that can do wonders for your confidence. And conversely the other team can end up just panicing not want8ng to throw the game away. At least that’s how it was in my day and in my village league experience! So whilst Hurst can be mocked for many things, I actually think that he gets undeserved stick for his ‘dangerous scoreline’ comment.
