Not at our absolute best but feels like we won the game through the good habits we now have that are so engrained in us. Speed of thought, desire to work hard, organisation, commitment to the way we play. Fitness so noticeable esp at about 70 minutes when other teams tire.
Wednesday very poor. Love the ground but was actually surprised by how passive their crowd was. I suppose a carbon copy of the last years of Evans here. Thank god we're out of that!
Massimo excellent again. I was asking myself who played the brilliant ball for Leif to run onto for the goal - it was Mass of course.
Strange away following today for some reason. I will never understand the need some have to performatively slate players the first time they make a mistake of any kind. So many around me vicious about Freddie. He didn't have his best game but have some respect! Scored 21 goals last season and match winner against Cardiff last game. At one point had a ball hit above him, impossible to hold up, and bloke in front unleashed vicious tirade. Similar to people going beserk when we play out from back and invite pressure - have they not listened to Mckenna? Can only assume these people don't watch a lot of football. Also the 'you've seen the Ipswich'...' chant is embarrassing. That said, spoke to a lovely father and son on tram after so must just have been my luck with the seating.
Onto Tuesday. Not getting carried away still the order of the day but with McKenna we're not here to make up the numbers....

I thought we did everything very well today, except some decision making and quality at the sharp end. We looked so much better than them, which is a reflection on how good we are at the moment, but also how poor they are. They looked all over the place. |  | | |

Agree. We didn't really have to get out of second gear did we. Even with the scoreline, Wednesday fans leaving v early. It was like we knew we could handle whatever they threw at us. [Post edited 16 Sep 2023 22:38]

Agreed but thought our finishing was very poor even the goal took a deflection!
Freddie should have scored in first few minutes but shot straight at keeper and had chances later on so hope Scarlett is sharper.
It was lucky that Wednesday are rubbish as feel that other teams would have punished us with the same chances! |  | | |
