I'd say patchy performance rather than poor. We were really only poor in the last 15, but probably shaded it before that, dominating possession without creating much. Getting away with Edmondson not being red carded was probably the key.

I'd say it was a bit of an emotional performance with some hangover from last season. Plenty to learn from that, but still another three points. Hladky magnificent, Hutch mercurial, Williams mental! (in a good way)

Not sure that Edmundson was the right choice there on his wrong side, but understandable, given their pace down that flank. Clarke might have been a better bet - bit of a wildcard, but he's quicker and quicker in the turn than Fridge - but not if hasn't been worked on.
