I know people question the town tv value on 13:32 - Nov 13 with 1366 views | ChampionsofInnsbruck | For me it's not about the value as much as it is just another bill at a time it costs too much to live anyway, nothing against Town TV but I scape affording my ST and the travel so for me that's what I want to spend my money on. What I will say is back in the 90's/00's we had two subscription TV services that gave you everything you wanted in the UK for one price, now to get the equivalent of top content, sport etc. you have to have umpteen packages and it costs much more than it ever did back then to have it, we moaned back then but we never had it so good! It also shows what conditioned consumers people have become when you have people shelling out subscriptions for more than 1 TV service, music, shopping, and so on. People wouldn't be spending anything near that years ago.

A full TV package from Sky is now £80 a month, that is ridiculous really. You are right on town tv being another monthly bill though - lets say we go the route of TownTV plus vpn - that's about £30-40 a month on a service that has to bow to Sky TV's license rules. I don't mind payinjg money out if it supports town but I can't imagine they ger much more then about £3-5 per month from every "foreign" TV signup - once you factor in licensing costs paid to the EFL and the other associated overheads.

The 90's? I struggle to remember but we only just got the interweb early 90s! It seems far easier now to watch all Town games in full, wherever I am in the world, wirelessly on a HD screen I carry in my pocket. At the most I'm paying £10-12 a game, one subscription of £11per month for privacy software required so far. I could choose to subscribe to Sky full package for about £47 a month.

It's absolutely horrendous how much money it costs to watch TV these days. Since moving 5 years ago to a house that had no TV Ariel I got conditioned to not watch TV and have since cancelled my TV license (a topic for another thread) for many reasons. Now I watch mainly streaming services that aren't live. A good buddy of mine has IPTV for £80 per year, which gives him access to everything. I know it's illegal, and I shouldn't condone it but when you see how much money Sky charges it's hard to disagree with his thought process

If you go a little further back you didn't have to pay anything and had 4 channels...and little to no live football and the football that was on wasn't always a great spectacle (pitches, low crowds etc). Now it's more interesting to watch, the best players in the world are playing here and the players are supreme athletes...but that all comes at a cost of course, hence the multiple subscriptions as someone (we) has to pay for it! We will soon all be saying that the Town should sign x,y,z in January; someone will have to pay for that and the improvements around Portman Road, the club is now being commercialised and money has been raised across the business. I actually think the TownTv content and production values are great and good value, but we all have choices whether to buy it or not.
I know people question the town tv value on 14:31 - Nov 13 with 1145 views | burnbudgiesburn | Back in the day you used to have to buy each game with no commentary on VHS format for over £10 Even 4-5 years ago Town didn't get this coverage. As someone miles away who can't always watch the game 'live' the full match replay is a godsend. Sure, you used to get that on ifollow but it was 1 camera, no replays, no build up etc.
