In the second most adult thing I’ve decided to do, I’m looking at replacing my carpets for the first time (in the Ipswich area).

I have lazily narrowed it down to either Eric Dines or Carpetright, but because I’m a total newby I don’t really know.

Can anyone recommend one of the above, or a place in general?

Thanking you.

I've had carpets from Carpetright, have always been ok. But you'll get more bang for your buck from a smaller independent.

I bought a new front door last week, so I know how you feel.

I can’t speak for the Ipswich area for recommendations, but it’s all in the skill of the fitters. Does the shop use its own who’ve been doing it man and boy, or some subbie who potentially hasn’t got the best experience and know how.

Also, for instance the sisal products, it can be a pretty specialist thing to prep, get right etc in comparison to more typical products so ask questions 👍

If you're local to ipswich then donnely Watson on foxhall road. They did our whole house for a really competitive price. We had problems (not due to their work) with the bathroom flooring and they came out and fixed it free of charge the next day. Its a proper family run business and the owners are ipswich fans so win win!

I would always recommend them and everyone who's had work done by them has been happy.

I usually go to Harts Carpets down The Dales way, I've always found them very good.

A couple of months ago I had to get one from Carpetright as it was an insurance job, they weren't bad as it happens and the carpet was a good price.
