He could've got his client a better deal without playing it all out through the press. I do think the public auction has tainted the relationship a little. Not too much, but a little!!

Also, I'd question the impact on the transfer kitty now we are paying our manager £100k a week.

There is that for sure It is slightly ironic in that regard, I hope we are doing a Chelsea and offering him a 10 year contract so you can offset it on the books

McKenna's agent has played a blinder on 19:10 - May 27 with 2084 views | suffolkpoker | In reality with promotion he deserves a better contract. Flip side we also deserve a better compensation clause than £6m. If Leicester is worth £10m I would say KM is worth more especially With his back room staff.

You'd have thought the last contract had such promotion clauses since that was the flipping aim of the club. Same goes for the players

I would 100% bet that his previous new contract had a massive pay rise related to promotion anyway, especially as it was only agreed a year ago.

I hope it includes a relegation clause as we would not want to get stuck paying sky high wages if we come back down, which is likely for any club going up from the Championship.

Of course there will be a promotion bonus for wages but when some of the biggest clubs are sniffing around you’ve manager or players. If you want to keep them then they need a better contract. That’s the price of success. [Post edited 27 May 2024 22:38]

I’m absolutely made up that he’s staying ( he is isn’t he??), but what I think it will do, is ensure Town won’t get caught out again. Absolutely brilliant we’ll hang onto him gif maybe another couple is seasons. I’d take that right now. But Ashton will definitely be scouting around now for a future replacement short list. So if ( when) this all blows up again, Town will probably very quickly move on to their next target, having in place a hefty release clause, plus McKenna’ undoubtedly high salary ( which I may add he’s full earned and deserves so no issues there). We’re playing with the big boys now, so as Ashton has said, “the numbers are just bigger, much bigger!”

McKenna's agent has played a blinder on 06:36 - May 28 with 1146 views | Freddy | Agree, hes got him a great new contract with a relegation buy our clause - perfect Was never going to Man Utd or Chelsea so only Brighton were interested and they had several options Bit disruptive though

Total reptiles to be honest, it could have backfired if Ashton said along the lines of if you don't like it here mate there is the door... Is Ashton that ruthless, not sure?
