Today is about acclimatisation. by BlueBadger 24 Aug 2024 15:57I'm going to go out on a limb and say that, like Sunderland last season, Liverpool and Man City back-to-back have been the best possible 'welcome to the division' matches we could have hoped for. Km will have learnt an awful lot about the division and how he needs to adapt to it and it'll benefit us long term this season.

Agreed that we showed no great lack of footballing skills but Man City showed more, they are four in a row league champions for a reason. Don't think any one of our team dropped their heads as they were too busy keeping the other side at bay. I guess it was just about a penalty for them but if it was so was the clumsy block on Leif in their penalty area just before half time. |  |

For all their possession stats, they only had 14shots, and only 5 were on target, which confuses me as I thought they hit the bar twice and scored 4, maybe the penalty doesn't count as a shot on target, don't know.
But that's pretty good against a team likely to win the title again.
Our 1 shot is less good but hey no ones going to care come May next year about this game. | | | |
